The Community Benefit Fund is urgently seeking volunteers to become Directors of the Fund.

Following changes to the constitution last year agreed by both the Residents & the Community Council there are 12 places on the Board. Only 9 residents volunteered and were appointed, 2 have since resigned. With a minimum of 4 Directors needed for a meeting to take place sickness & holidays can cause meetings to be cancelled, as was the case twice in June this year.

Failure to hold a meeting means that grants to organisations and individuals cannot be agreed or paid. Without these payments organisations within Strathnairn supported by the Community Benefit Fund cannot operate which in June regrettably resulted in the cancellation of the August edition of Strathnairn News.

What is involved – attendance at up to 12 meetings a year, starting at 19.30 and lasting normally about 2 hours. Consideration of Grants to individuals and applications from existing or new organisations working within Strathnairn for funds.

Appointments last until December 2022 but Directors can resign at any time during this period.

Directors must be at least 16 years old and residents of Strathnairn.
