Home Heating Grant Application

A Home Heating Grant of £500 to assist with fuel costs is available to permanent residents in the Strathnairn Community Council area who are:

1. in receipt of Pension Credit; OR
2. in receipt of Universal Credit; OR
3. spending over 10% of their Net Household Income (based on Scottish Government definitions) on fuel costs.

Only one application per household, per calendar year, is permitted.

Your application is strictly confidential. Your details will only be available to the fund secretary and two Directors needed to authorise payment.

Home Energy Scotland provide free advice and support on reducing bills and keeping your home warm. They can be contacted on 0808 808 2282 or www.homeenergyscotland.org. Additional support may be available via Highland Council to households with a low income. For more information contact the Council’s Welfare Support Team on 0800 090 1004.

The maximum Net Household Income (C), in the past 12 months, for claiming this grant is: Couple with two children £24,471; Single of working age person, no children £10,745; Couple of working age, no children £18,455; Single pensioner £10,140; Couple pensioner £16,080. The maximum Net Household Income is defined by the Scottish Government.

D. Amount spent on fuel in the last 12 months. Include electricity, gas, fuel oil and solid fuel (including wood pellets).
